Terms of Service
Last updated 24 August 2026.
1. What Flare is
Flare is a marketplace. We introduce people who need roadside or local help to independent service providers nearby, and we let those providers send you a price. We are not the service provider. The work is performed by an independent business, and your agreement for that work is with them.
2. Using Flare
You need a working mobile number to sign in, and you must be 18 or older. Give us accurate information — particularly your location, because someone is driving to it. Do not use Flare to request anything unlawful, and do not misuse the service or other people on it.
3. Quotes are estimates
A price you receive through Flare is an estimate given by the provider before they have seen the job. Where the law where you are sets a cap on how far a final charge may exceed a written estimate, that cap applies — in Ontario, a final charge may not exceed the estimate by more than 10%. If the job turns out to be different from what was described, the provider should tell you and re-quote before doing the work.
4. Payment
During the pilot, you pay the provider directly. Flare does not take payment, does not hold funds, and does not process cards. Any dispute about the amount paid is between you and the provider, though we would like to hear about it.
5. Providers
Providers apply to join and are approved by hand. Where a trade requires a certificate of qualification, we verify it before listing that provider for that kind of work. Approval means we checked what we say we checked — it is not a guarantee of the quality of any particular job.
6. Cancelling
You can cancel a request before you accept a quote. After you accept, a provider may already be on the way, so cancel by telling them as well.
7. Messages
By signing in you agree to receive a one-time code and messages about your jobs. Reply STOP to opt out. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your number.
8. Our responsibility
We work to keep Flare available and accurate, but we provide it as-is. We are not responsible for the work a provider does, for their conduct, or for anything they charge you beyond what the law requires of a marketplace. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law where you live.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Flare at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend an account that abuses the service or puts other people at risk.
10. Changes and contact
We will update the date above if these terms change. Questions: support@flarehelp.com.
